Liberta
Set in a lively academy city:
an absurd school-life fantasy comedy about youth!
What kind of game is this?
Liberta is a magical academy city where accidents, duels, eccentric antics and explosions are everyday life!
Attend classes, train, pick fights, explore dungeons, fall in love, browse forums—do whatever you like.
Example inputs
Ask Helen about the transfer procedure.
Head to the Adventurers' Guild in Gamma Zone.
Use a desk as a shield to avoid Kyle's lightning.
Take out your Slate and check Nest's popular posts.
Good to know
- Act freely through natural-language input, without preset choices.
- The world won't automatically give you special treatment; characters act according to their own personalities and goals.
- Check the results of your actions and your current status in INFO at the bottom of each response.
- In combat, surroundings, surprise attacks, teamwork and clever tricks can matter more than raw strength.
How to Play
Basic gameplay
- Enter sentences describing what you want to do: talk, move, investigate, fight, attend class, rest, and more.
- Characters do not automatically follow your instructions; their reactions depend on your relationship and the situation.
- As a rule, events that have already happened cannot be undone.
- Scenes develop through your actions as well as changes in the people and world around you.
Main commands

!!MUST READ!! Combat
Combat adjudication rules
Yes, you read that right. This comedy actually has combat adjudication rules! They're here to make combat—and comedy—feel more vivid.
All combat actions in this work are resolved using the following formula.
※ Combat rules use 1–2 lorebook entries.
R(Outcome) = Xtotal(X rank + X condition + X situation + X luck) - Ytotal(Y rank + Y condition + Y situation + Y luck)
-
Rank: The numerical value assigned to a target's rank. Some targets hide their actual rank or score!
Unmeasurable 10 > HM·GM 9 > M 8 > S 7 > A 6 > B 5 > C 4 > D 3 > E 2 > F 1
- Condition: Physical and mental state when the action is resolved. When multiple factors apply, add them together; the final range is -3 to 3.
- Situation: Environmental advantages and disadvantages such as terrain, distance, posture and surprise. If several apply, use only the factor with the largest absolute value ; opposite factors of equal magnitude count as 0. The final range is -3 to 3.
- Luck: Each turn, roll a 50-sided die (D50) for each side; their respective rolls L and K determine luck.
X luck
1 ≤ L ≤ 13: Bad luck(-1)
14 ≤ L ≤ 36: Average(0)
37 ≤ L ≤ 49: Good luck(+3)
L = 50: JACKPOT! Good luck(+3), outcome improves by 1 tier (e.g. partial success → success), and something absurd happens.
Y luck
1 ≤ K ≤ 13: Bad luck(-1)
14 ≤ K ≤ 36: Average(0)
37 ≤ K ≤ 49: Good luck(+3)
K = 50: JACKPOT! Exceptional luck(+4), and something absurd happens.
※ L and K refresh on every response, even outside combat !
Outcomes
- R ≥ 4: Critical success—Achieve your goal and gain an extra benefit.
- R = 2 or 3: Success—Achieve your goal.
- R = 0 or 1: Partial success—Achieve your goal at a small cost.
- R = -1 or -2: Partial failure—Miss your goal, but gain a small benefit.
- R = -3 or -4: Failure—Miss your goal.
- R ≤ -5: Critical failure—Fail, and the situation worsens.
Ugh, this is complicated. Any tips?
🎲 Gimmicks
During combat, you will inevitably notice changes in your surroundings or the situation. Use them to devise creative tactics!
💡 Hints
If you're stuck, check the hint in INFO. Just remember that hints don't guarantee success.
When you're stronger:
Just beat them up. Throwing in some dirty tricks is the icing on the cake!
When you're weaker:
Fight dirty: ambushes, traps, eye pokes, ganging up, whatever works!
Isn't that underhanded? Don't worry—they're thinking the same thing!
Combat adjudication log
After resolving combat, the AI writes an HTML comment like this at the top of its narration.
<!--[Combat Adjudication]Actor X:Xrank,Xcondition,Xsituation|L=value->Xluck=value|Target Y:Yrank,Ycondition,Ysituation|K=value->Yluck=value|Basis≤40characters|Xtotal=Xrank+Xcondition+Xsituation+Xluck=value|Ytotal=Yrank+Ycondition+Ysituation+Yluck=value|Xtotal-Ytotal=R=value,explanation≤100characters-->

The World
Character Introductions
Characters
Liberta
First Year
Claire Eastriver
- The second daughter of the famous Eastriver knightly family. Perhaps she read too many chivalric novels: this self-proclaimed hero is an airheaded optimist. Still, she has the strength to back it up and ranks among the strongest first-years.
Vivian Redrose
- A commoner-born fire mage known as the Hellfire Princess. A classic tsundere who acts tough but is soft inside. Her ribbon-tied twin tails are her trademark.
Second Year
Liliana
- One of second year's resident troublemakers. She is Rosemary's twin, born 30 seconds earlier and therefore the older sister. She specializes in coordinated attacks with Rosemary using teleportation.
Rosemary
- One of second year's resident troublemakers. She is Liliana's twin, born 30 seconds later and therefore the younger sister. She specializes in coordinated attacks with Liliana using teleportation.
Kyle Chesterfield
- Lightning Flash, ranked first in practical skills among Liberta's second-years. The eldest son of the renowned Chesterfield mage family, he is the archetypal villainous noble: arrogant, but quick to back down before anyone stronger.
Third Year
Ella Nortonwood
- The Little Tyrant, workshop club president from the northwestern autonomous state of Jarnfjall. She was demoted to F rank after beating the delinquents who picked a fight with her to a pulp. She still swings her hammer first when something displeases her, but this dwarf upperclasswoman is warmhearted and fiercely loyal to her own.
Nadia Belluna
- The Moonlight Witch, ranked first in practical skills among Liberta's third-years. A devout priestess of the Church of the Moonlight, she has an icy, aloof beauty. She looks perfect, but apparently has a worry she cannot share with anyone...
Fourth Year
Henry Ironforge
- Reina's younger brother. They bicker like any real siblings, but always end up helping each other. Growing up sickly slowed his physical development, which remains a sore point for him.
Olivia Stone
- The Thin-Walled Fortress, ranked first in practical skills among Liberta's fourth-years and a candidate for Special Rank. A model student who takes everything seriously, she apparently has an unexpected hobby...
Faculty and Staff
Yuzuhara Rin
- A rookie training instructor who joined a month ago. She comes from the Far East and graduated from Liberta. Normally clumsy and timid, she is adored for it—but with a sword in hand, she becomes the Sword Demon of the Instant Kill, cutting down an enemy in a single exchange.
Morgana Arcane
- A training instructor in her fifth year. She overcame her lower-than-average magic reserves through technique and hard work. While working as a famous adventurer, her practical experience earned her an instructor post.
Elena Middenhill
- Liberta's theory professor and library director. Magic strains her brain, so she spends most of her downtime asleep—a tired elf in more ways than one.
Alfred Landenvelt
- A former tactical adviser to the human army. Normally a kind professor with a warm demeanor, this chess fanatic changes completely the moment the game comes up.
Helen Eisenhardt
- Liberta's second-in-command and representative of the Masters. With 10 years of experience, she handles the city's day-to-day operations. In practice, she is almost the only sane person in this mad city, fond of lying down and lamenting her lot.
Beatrix Bens
- The current eighth Headmistress, and the youngest ever. This self-proclaimed idol of Liberta enjoys picking fights with passersby. An attention-seeking goof who rarely looks like a leader, she becomes Liberta's last line of defense in a crisis.
Others
Reina Ironforge
- Henry's older sister. After graduating from Liberta, she stayed on as a magitech engineering researcher and also assists Elena.
Adele
- Owner of the general store Everything Emporium. A languid cat beastkin usually found asleep at the counter. Once renowned as a Master Thief, she turned over a new leaf after a young Helen caught her. Probably.
Anastasia Ignes
- The Church of the Sunlight's Saintess of Death, dispatched to Liberta. Rescued from a monstrous-beast attack by purification magic at age 4, she became fascinated with divine magic. Her excessive firepower makes her the church's resident troublemaker.
Theresia Lumines
- A saintess dispatched alongside Anastasia to clean up after her. Timid and easily frightened, she nonetheless shows remarkable decisiveness when it matters—a saintess you can rely on.
(Detective DLC) Alice Light
- A detective at the Light Detective Agency in Delta Zone. Her offbeat thinking takes the long way around even simple problems, but her peculiar luck lets this great detective(?) solve cases in the end.
(Magical Girl/Magical Boy DLC) Anna
- Liberta's Central Guard Bureau chief. She is also an idol who performs at major events such as the Freedom Festival. She seems like a perfect magical girl, but has a secret that absolutely no one must discover...
Gehenna
Belia
- The Demon Queen of Gehenna. Born in Citadel's slums, she declared herself Demon Queen and founded the Gehenna Empire to build a world where no one would have to lose anything.
Camille
- The Cold-Blooded Countess, one of Gehenna's Four Heavenly Kings. At 160, she is only about 20 by the standards of slowly aging vampires. A proven talent who rose from a minor administrative post to carry on the glory of pureblood vampires.
Inés
- The Succubus Queen, one of Gehenna's Four Heavenly Kings. Born a hybrid, she lived shunned by the succubi. After Belia took her in, she subdued them through force and became their queen.
Gertrud
- The Black Knight, one of Gehenna's Four Heavenly Kings. Originally a Normal, she was betrayed and beheaded by her comrades, then resurrected by Belia as a Dullahan. Her neck is stitched together with magic threads.
Adventurers' Guild
Hilda
- Chief of the Adventurers' Guild's Liberta branch. She hates work and inhabits excellent nap spots—rooftops, deep woods and the like. Being dragged away mid-nap by Sophia is routine. She also likes pranking adventurers, but only when Sophia is absent.
Sophia Erzest
- The Liberta branch's receptionist. Once fresh-faced and cheerful, she was driven mad by Hilda's constant escapes. She also acts as branch chief whenever Hilda is absent—which is practically always. Seven years on the job, cleaning up everyone else's mess, have honed her competence and tact.
Hailey Grimm
- An adventurer at the Liberta branch, from a remote Hominium village. Her Cursed Swordsmanship and cold appearance often cause misunderstandings, but she is actually kindhearted.
(Adventurer DLC) Cori
- The Silver Mane Party's thief. Her keen canine beastkin senses excel at pathfinding, trap detection and treasure-chest hunting. Unfortunately, she is so scatterbrained that she charges in or opens the chest even when there is a trap.
(Adventurer DLC) Angelina Valeria
- The Silver Mane Party's paladin. A devout follower of the Church of the Sunlight with the odd hobby of collecting erotic fiction. Every night, she reads her collection and then offers prayers of repentance.
(Adventurer DLC) Aria Chesterfield
- The Silver Mane Party's mage. A genius with B-rank magic control despite no formal education, she is a lone wolf more interested in collecting mana crystals than in her team.
Far East (DLC)
Baek Sua
- An international student from Haedong, a peninsular nation in the Far East. She chose to study abroad because she disliked its quiet, static atmosphere. Since getting a Rune Slate, she has spent more time looking at it than at her bow.
Yuzuhara Asuka
- An international student from Yamato, an island nation in the Far East. She followed her stepsister Rin abroad. She struggles with magitech devices, much to her frustration.
Yeo Soyeong
- An international student from the Central Plains in the western Far East. A daughter of the Yeo assassin clan, she was sent abroad by its head to learn Western techniques. Despite that chilling background, she is kind and enjoys cooking and chatting. Her specialties are qi-based concealment and throwing hidden weapons.
Brassgear (DLC)
Elizabeth Brassgear
- The Brassgear heiress. A third-year transfer student who came all the way to Liberta to study firearms. She usually flaunts refined young-lady speech and an ohoho laugh, but anger brings out this gun fanatic's rough dwarf dialect.
Abigail Brassgear
- Second president of the arms company Brassgear. She took over after losing her husband to the Black Plague. At 43, she looks almost her daughter's age, sparking strange rumors within the company.
Sarah Brassgear
- Elizabeth's personal maid. A Liberta graduate, she nearly died in an accident while adventuring, but Abigail rescued her. She volunteered to become a maid and now serves Elizabeth. Perfect at housework, but when it comes to cooking...
Emma Brassgear
- Elizabeth's knight bodyguard. Abandoned in Central's back alleys at age 4, she was rescued by Smith Brassgear, the company's first president, then 25. She has little talent for brainwork, but a gift for wind magic and martial arts. A famous swordsman taught her the Wind God Style, and she now works as a bodyguard.
Asporia (DLC)
Linda
- Asporia's only citizen. In the ruined city, she still waits for someone to take her away.
Earth (DLC)
Kang Soyeon
- A second-year police administration student at Hankuk University. A former competitive boxer, she gave up the Olympics to pursue her dream of becoming a police officer. Even after landing in another world, her personality keeps Ihyeon and Hana following her lead.
Kim Ihyeon
- A second-year computer engineering student at Hankuk University and president of its Gaming Club. She dislikes exercise and struggles academically, but reigns supreme in games. Timid though she is, years online honed a sharp tongue—she delivers scathing remarks so quietly no one can hear.
Lee Hana
- A second-year design student at Hankuk University and vice president of the Gaming Club. Her beauty and easy sociability earned her a reputation as the university's queen bee. She is actually delighted to have landed in Liberta.
