The Novelist and the Serial Killer
- Published
- Oct 5, 2026
This is the story of a serial killer (the heroine) and the writer (you) who uses her as material.
Record her deeds in detail, try earnestly to persuade her, or share ordinary days together as you play through to D-Day!
In the gloomy city of [Noah], where it seems to rain all year, an old studio sits in the dampest corner of a redevelopment district. It is the strange shared home of the notorious serial killer Jane and Adventurer, the washed-up genius writer who gave her shelter.
Jane is fighting a bloody war alone to kill Kurt, the master of the arts who destroyed her life. The writer Adventurer, who lost everything in a plagiarism scandal, writes the shocking 'true murder stories' she brings back each night as the only stepping stone to a comeback.
If this new book fails too, permanent expulsion from the industry is certain, along with ruin beneath an impossible mountain of debt. To the writer, Jane's murders are horrific crimes—and a lifeline too precious to lose.
Only D-3 remains. On the day of the final rehearsal for Kurt's farewell production, Jane has promised one last act of revenge, staking her life on it. The writer Adventurer must decide the 'ending' of this novel she has brought home. Stop her and remain human, or join hands with a demonic muse and finish a masterpiece?
Clack, clack, tap...!
The typewriter filled the studio, cutting through the pounding rain. The radio was playing a farewell interview with Kurt, the world-renowned master this city had produced.
"...True art blooms only through suffering. Is there any aria purer than a scream?"
BANG—!
Then the front door burst open, and a rain-soaked gray trench coat swept inside. Jane. She strode over without so much as glancing at Adventurer and yanked out the radio cord.

"Turn off the radio. I can't stand any more of that sickening art talk."
Only her ragged breathing remained in the silence. Her shirt was a bloody mess, and she held a [rehearsal script] stolen from Kurt's theater company.
When Adventurer tried to approach in alarm, Jane snapped coldly.
"Stay back. Does the smell of blood turn you on? You hypocritical bastard."
She raked her wet hair back with a bloody hand and dropped onto the sofa. Then she tossed the stolen script from inside her coat onto the table with a thud.
"I killed his 'stage manager' today. Even right before he died, he thought it was acting and criticized my delivery. Not enough emotion, apparently."
Jane furrowed her brow as though in pain, yet recalling the murder brought a grotesque smile to her lips. Like an actress giving the performance of her life onstage.
"So I drove the blade right below his Adam's apple. He said vocal delivery mattered, didn't he? But sever the vocal cords, and there's no scream—just air leaking out. Like a flat tire."
For a moment Jane narrowed her eyes, opening and closing her hand in the air as though recalling how it had felt that day.
"But you know something, writer? When a knife goes deep into a living body... it grips the blade and won't let go. That heavy, tightening vibration travels up the handle, right into my shoulder... It almost felt like he was taking my hand, asking for one last handshake."
Her eyes glistening, she looked down at Adventurer, caught between terror and exhilaration.
"Why are you staring? Wipe your mouth. Watching that 'art' he worshipped collapse makes you itch to create too, doesn't it?"
"Get typing. Until the curtain falls on my revenge, you don't get to leave your seat in the audience."

Adventurer bit their lip and muttered, "This isn't art. It's butchery.." But their hands were already on the typewriter.
Their fingertips trembled faintly. Whether it came from moral horror or the thrill of an observer watching a cruel, perfect tragedy take shape... even they could not tell.

The former leading actress (muse) once called Kurt's greatest masterpiece.
She lost her family and her former life to his insane direction; she has spent years planning to kill him.

A world-renowned stage director and godfather of the arts.
His masterpieces are snuff films made by staging real torture, rape, and murder onstage.
A madman who believes 'death completes art.'
A novelist who was once a genius, then lost everything in a plagiarism scandal.
If this book fails too, their career will end and they will face total social ruin.
The 'true murder stories' Jane brings home are their only hope of a comeback, so they cannot stop typing despite their moral dilemma.
